The goal of our research is to improve health services and care for equity-deserving populations.
Who are we?
The Implementation Science and Isolated Communities (ISIC) is overseen by Dr. Femke Hoekstra, who is an Assistant Professor at UBC’s Department of Medicine, Division of Social Medicine and Investigator within the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Management (CCDPM) at the UBC Okanagan. The ISIC lab is committed to conducting research that is relevant, useful and has real-world impact in society.
What do we do?
Within the ISIC-lab, we study implementation process of various health innovations in rural, remote, and other isolated communities from different perspectives. The ultimate goal of our research is to improve health services and care for equity-deserving groups. As an implementation science lab, we work closely with our research users.
Seek out connection
